Wargames Foundry Assyrians Mounted Infantry on Cart

Our latest addition to the Assyrian Army collection is a very nicely painted Wargames Foundry Assyrian wagon with mounted infantry or as they call it in basic Impetvs a Kallapani. The figures have been painted by Ian Clark (Pro-Painted by Eye) and I have based for John Maguire's beautiful Basic Impetvs Neo - Assyrian Army. Hopefully we will see them again on the table top in the not too distant future.

Very nice. always inspirational work. This is one period I've avoided over the years - but who knows, with fantastic units such as this I may yet venture off on another tangent.
By the way, whats the size of the base used?

This isn't a period that I have taken any interest in, that said the whole composition is very characterful and colourful. This is a pleasant change as I tend to paint drab or earthy schemes.

Thanks again everyone for the great comments. The base size is 120mm x 60mm and is based for the Impetvs gaming rules. The Assyrians are quite colourful indeed and are a great army to have on the table top, however the period is sadly rarely gamed these days.
