2nd ECW Fortified Baggage Camp for Baroque

I have almost completed rebasing two complete ECW Armies for a good friend, thus so far over 40 bases for both sides of the conflict, which also includes two fortified baggage camps for the back of the table. The figures have been painted by some of the great wargaming painters from around the world so it was quite easy to make the base look good when you have such lovely painted figures to work with.

So please enjoy and I hope to have a few more images of our ECW game we have planned for next Sunday afternoon.

ECW Baggage Camp for Baroque

This morning I finished my first fortified baggage camp for a friends Baroque Army. Basically John supplied all the figures and I designed and based the camp. I still have another camp to go for the opposition, which will very similar but most likely a different set up for the figures and baggage at the rear of the camp.

The gabions were made by a couple of lads over on Palm Island using a 3 D printer. Not quite authentic but pretty damn good for not having any I think.

Classical Indian vs Macedonian Imperial - Basic Impetvs

Last weekend Myself and a couple of like minded chums played a great double game of Basic Impetvs.2 The forces arranged against each other were Alexanders Imperial Macedonian Army Vs Classical Indians. Because there were four of us playing I decided to double the size of the Basic Army by, as suggested in the rules, adding another army to the game by using the 1st Option for both armies. This worked out very well and provided all players with a command.

The game played well and as in other games we have played it came down to the last turn for who would be the victor for the day. In the end after a couple of hours of battle the Indian Elephants provided the Indians with just enough power to finally roll up the Macedonian pike blocks and finally claim victory. Though it was a though battle and as always there was plenty of banter between players.

The Indian King and his Longbow troops shower the Macedonian pike with enough arrows to block out the sun

Indian and Persian medium cavalry clash on the flanks. The Persian cavalry proved superior over the Indians

When the lines finally meet the Indian Longbow could not stand up to the pikes and were pushed back but then the Elephants charged in and a great melee between the might of the elephant and the long pike of the Macedonians

The pike fought long and hard against the might of these beast but in the end they were eventually pushed back

Thracian light foot fought well against the Indian spear

However the Indian chariots proved very hardy against the best the Macedonians could throw against them...Companion Cavalry
